Some people do not like television in our country.

Roman Urdu: Hamare mulk main ba'z log television ko pasand nahin karte. Un ke khayal main yeh hamare waqt ka dushman hai. Television dekhne se talib eilm ka waqt zaya hota hai. Log sust aur kahil ho jate hain aur apna kam kaj chhor kar har waqt television ke gird halqa jamai bethe rehte hain lekin agar ghor karain to is main television ka kya qasur? Television ya to us waqt dekhna chahi'ye jab humain fursat ho ya jab koi aham programme chal raha ho. Dusri scientific ijadat ki tarah is ke faide bhi hain aur nuqsan bhi!
English: Some people do not like television in our country. They think it is the enemy of our time. Watching television wastes students' time. People become lazy and indolent, and they sit around watching television all the time, leaving their work. But if you think about it, how is television at fault for this? Television should be watched when we are free or when there's an important programme on. Like other scientific inventions, it has also advantages and disadvantages.

Lying is a bad habit which is always considered a sin.

Roman Urdu: Jhut bolna aisi buri adat hai jis ko hamesha se gunah samjha gya. Har mazhab aur har mu'asharreh main ise aik bahut bara akhlaqi jurm kaha gya magar phir bhi log jhut bolte hain. Basa auqat parhe likhe log bhi is jurm ke murtaqib ho jate hain aur aisi bat keh dete hain jo haqiqat par mabni na ho. Log apni kisi kamzori ko chhupane ke li'ye ya saza se bachne ke li'ye jhut bol jate hain. Jhut insan ki shakhsiyat par aik bad-numa dagh hai.
English: Lying is a bad habit which is always considered a sin. It is said to be a great moral crime in every religion and every society, but people still lie. Sometimes educated people commit this crime and say things which are not based on fact. People lie to hide their weaknesses or to avoid punishment. A lie is an ugly strain on mankind's personality.

Forgiving is a good thing, but it does not mean...

Roman Urdu: Mu'af kar dena achchi bat hai magar is ka matlab yeh nahin ke mujrimun ki rok tham na ki jai, nahin to mu'asharre main be chaini, la qanuniyat aur tashadud main izafa ho ga. Lekin sirf sazain kafi nahin. Jaraim ki vajuhat ko khatam karna ho ga.
English: Forgiving is a good thing, but it does not mean that criminals should not be restrained, otherwise restlessness, lawlessness, and violence will increase in society. However, punishment alone is not enough. The reasons of the crimes will have to be eradicated.

Knowledge is a great power.

Roman Urdu: Ilm ek azim quwat hai. Ilm ke zariy'e hamen maddi daulat hi nahin, ruhani sukun bhi hasil hota hai. Hamare mazhab main ilm hasil karna har shakhs par farz hai. Yeh ek aisi shai hai jise koi chura nahin sakta. Ilm ke baghair koi insan apni zat ko bhi pahchan nahin sakta aur yon sari zindagi apne maqsad-e-hayat se be khabar rahta hai. Ilm hasil kar ke insan apni, apne mu'asharre aur apni qaum ki bahtri ka sabab ban sakta hai.
English: Knowledge is a great power. We not only gain material wealth but also spiritual peace through knowledge. It is every person's duty to gain knowledge in our religion. It is something that nobody can steal. Nobody can recognise himself without knowledge and hence he remains unaware of his life purpose throughout his life. By gaining knowledge, man can cause betterment for himself, his society and nation.

Quaid-e-Azam had a great love for democracy.

Unhun ne qaum se kaha tha ke agar hukumat koi ghalti karti hai to us par tanqid karo. Vuh samajhte the ke jaiz tanqid qaum ki behtri ke li'ye zaruri hai. Quaid-e-Azam ne apne naqidun ko kabhi gali ya dhamki nahin di thi.

The need for constructing small power plants is being felt now.

Roman Urdu: Ab chhote bijli gharun ke qayam ki zarurat ko mehsus kiya ja raha hai. Bijli ki paidawar mazi ke muqableh main kam nahin huwi hai. Sirf iska isti'mal bhar gya hai guzashtah salun se hazarun dihat main bijli pahunchai gayi. Alawah azin sanati phelao main izafa huwa hai. Hazarun rihaishi mansoobun ki amli shakal di gayi. Hamari rai hai ke sanati aur tijarti tanzimain niji gharun ke qayam ki taraf tawajho dain. Umid hai ke hukumat unki hosla afzai kare gi.
English: The need for constructing small power plants is being felt now. The production of power has not decreased as compared to that in the past. Only its consumption has increased. In the preceding years, electricity was provided to thousands of villagers. Besides, there is an increase in industrial development. Thousands of residential schemes were implemented. It is our opinion that industrial and trading organisations should pay attention to the construction of individual power plants. It is hoped that the government will encourage them.

Education is now common, as it never was before.

Roman Urdu: Ta'lim jitni ab am hai itni pehle kabhi na thi lekin tamam asaniun ke bawjud ta'lim ka m'iyar past ho gya hai. Is ki waja yeh hai ke tolaba ta'lim main gehri dilchaspi nahin lete. Kuch imtihan ke qarib imdadi kutub kharid kar chand sawal rat lete hain.
English: Education is now common, as it never was before. But despite the increased convenience, the educational standards have been low. The reason is that the students take no deep interest in their studies. Some students purchase some study guide books near the examinations and cram a few questions.
